Community and War
The large-scale russian aggression on 24 February 2022 radically changed life in the community. People and the town leadership had to deal with problems there and then, relying on those who were nearby.
The community received and accommodated people who were internally displaced from war zones, united people around survival centres, provided shelter and assistance.
In the lyceums of the town, the simplest shelters have been repaired and equipped, points of invincibility have been created and equipped with generators and stoves, and lighting has been installed in the shelters of multi-apartment residential buildings. Works are being carried out in the town to arrange wells for use as a backup technical water supply source.Funds are regularly raised for the purchase of necessary equipment and machinery for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, humanitarian aid is collected for internally displaced persons.
Volunteers and charities are engaged by the community to help the community residents and internally displaced persons.
History
The town of Synelnykove was founded in the early 19th century as a settlement of the Pavlohrad District of the Katerynoslav Province on the land donated by the tsarist government to General Synelnykov.
In 1868-1969, a railway station was built, which was named after the owner of the land – Synelnykove.
In 1921, Synelnykove became a town and a centre of the Synelnykove District of the Katerynoslav Province, and in 1923 – the centre of the Synelnykove District.
Synelnykove received a town status in 1938.
In 1979, Synelnykove became a town of regional subordination.
The town has 13 landmarks of cultural heritage, the Industrial Museum of Combat and Labour Glory of the Synelnykove Passenger Car Depot, and the Local History Museum.
Development Strategy
The community’s priorities include creating the conditions for the dynamic, balanced economic growth and improvement of the town development management mechanisms based on efficiency, openness and transparency; boosting investment and innovative activities, ensuring the proper functioning of engineering, transport and municipal infrastructure; complying with environmental standards and, as a result, increasing the level of the town’s competitiveness, availability of a wide range of social services, and improving the population’s well-being and proper living conditions.
