Economy
Thanks to its location on the M03/E40 international highway and its proximity to the city of Kyiv (155 km), the economy of the Pyriatyn community has additional competitive advantages.
Food industry is the most developed sector in the community. The Pyriatyn area is even called the “cheese capital” of the Poltava region. After all, it is here that Pyriatyn Cheese Factory LLC (“Pyriatyn” brand cheese was among the top 50 most expensive brands of Ukraine), as well as the Lelyakivske Craft Cheese Factory operate. A significant driver of the local economy is Pyriatynsky Delikates LLC, which is engaged in the production of frozen semi-finished products.
The community’s small enterprises are engaged in the manufacture of custom-made household and office furniture, the production of bread, bakery and pasta, ceramic products, the processing and sale of beekeeping products, the cultivation of agricultural crops, and the breeding of cattle and pigs.
The agricultural sector is represented by 86 agro-industrial enterprises of various forms of ownership, including 26 farms that cultivate 45,500 hectares of arable land. Almost 10,000 hectares are cultivated in private peasant farms. Crop production dominates in the structure of agricultural production with a share of 93.5%. A share of livestock production is 6.5%. The main crops grown on the territory of the community are wheat, rapeseed, sunflower, soybean and corn, as well as vegetable&melon and fruit&berry crops.
A significant elevator potential is concentrated on the territory of the community – 176.8 thousand tons of simultaneous grain storage.
In addition to traditional types of agricultural activity, agro-enterprises of the Pyriatyn area are also developing other aspects:
Kryachkivka-Agro-Plus Private Enterprise engages in horticulture and berry growing;
Kalynovomostivske Private Enterprise develops mushroom cultivation and processing of sunflower seeds into oil;
